Echoes of the Real
Chapter 1176 · One Thousand One Hundred Seventy-Six

Echoes in Its Wake

As the creature of light continued its dance, a new phenomenon began to occur. In its wake, it left a trail of faint, shimmering echoes, like the afterimage of a bright light in a darkened room. These echoes were not mere remnants of its passing, but something more. They were memories, frozen moments of the creature’s journey of discovery.

Each echo was a snapshot of a particular question the creature had encountered, a particular form it had taken in its quest for understanding. One echo shimmered with the cool blue of a nascent star, another with the fiery red of a cosmic dust cloud. Together, they formed a tapestry of the creature’s journey, a history of its becoming.

Vega pointed to the trail of echoes, her eyes wide with fascination. “What are they?”

“They are the answers,” Kael said, his voice a low murmur. “Or rather, they are the closest thing to answers that this universe will allow. They are not definitive truths, but moments of understanding, preserved in time. They are the echoes of the questions our creature has asked.”

The creature of light seemed to take notice of its own echoes. It would pause in its dance, turning back to observe the trail it had left behind. It would interact with the echoes, its form shifting and changing as it revisited the questions it had already asked, the moments of understanding it had already achieved.

“It’s building on its own experiences,” Vega said. “It’s creating a foundation of knowledge, a history of its own becoming.”

“And in doing so,” Kael added, “it is creating the first law of this new reality. The law of echoes. The law that states that every question, once asked, leaves an impression on the fabric of the universe, a memory that can be revisited, re-examined, and built upon.”
