The Gateway

They stepped out of the transport onto a walkway of the same polished obsidian as the pillars. It extended from the transport to the crystalline structure in the center of the cavern, a single, dark line drawn across the luminous floor.

Silas moved with a predatory grace, his eyes scanning the cavern, cataloging every detail. Reyes followed, his hand never straying far from his weapon, his face a mask of grim determination. Kenji trailed behind them, his gaze fixed on the crystalline structure, a look of profound, almost religious awe on his face.

‘It’s bigger on the inside,’ Kenji whispered, a cliché made profound by the reality before them. ‘It’s a Tesseract… a four-dimensional object rendered in three-dimensional space. This isn’t a building. It’s a gateway.’
