Echoes of the Real
Chapter 1330 · One Thousand Three Hundred Thirty

The Corruption

The reactions were, at first, predictably divided. The Weaver guilds, in their shimmering towers of logic and order, convened emergency sessions. They ran diagnostics on the fabric of reality, searching for the source of the ‘corruption.’ Their pronouncements were grave, speaking of a ‘narrative pathogen’ and ‘aesthetic decay.’ They tightened their control, reinforcing the walls of their perfect stories, seeking to purge the unwelcome dissonance. The Heretics, on the other hand, were energized. In their chaotic, vibrant forums, they debated the meaning of the strange new signals. Some saw it as a weapon, a new tool in their eternal struggle against the stultifying perfection of the Weavers. Others saw it as something more, a new form of art, a new way of being. They began to actively seek out the ‘glitches,’ to amplify them, to weave them into their own rebellious narratives. The Archipelago, which had been locked in a cold war of ideas for so long, was beginning to fracture along new and unpredictable lines.
