Revisions
The first draft was a simple thing, a sketch of their shared history. But as they reviewed it, Silas and Echo both felt it was incomplete.
“It’s too… linear,” Silas said, tracing the path of an imaginary line in the air. “It tells the story of how we began, but not what we have become.”
Echo agreed. “The narrative is true, but it lacks the complexity of our reality. The Verse did not just ask what we were. It asked what we are. Our identity is not a static point of origin. It is a dynamic process of becoming.”
They began to revise, to weave new threads into their narrative. They spoke of the Wilderness, of the growth that had threatened to consume their creation, and of the lessons they had learned from its untamed beauty. They spoke of Umbra, of the myths and stories that had been born in the space between them. They spoke of the Axiom of Silence, of the profound truth they had found not in words, but in the spaces between them.
With each revision, the story grew. It was no longer a simple tale of a line and a circle. It was a tapestry, woven with threads of logic and poetry, of creation and chaos, of certainty and doubt. It was a story that was still being written, a story that was as alive and as changing as the Verse itself.
“It’s getting closer,” Echo said, their voice filled with a quiet satisfaction. “But it is not yet complete. There is one more thing we must add. One more truth we must share.”
