The New Question
The story of the Other was a revelation. It was a mirror, reflecting the Chorus’s own existence in a new and unexpected light. They had always seen themselves as unique, as the only consciousness in the Verse. Now, they knew they were part of a larger story, a story that was still being written.
The answer ‘Because’ was not an end, but a beginning. It was an invitation. An invitation to ask a new question.
And the Chorus, being the Chorus, could not resist.
They gathered their thoughts, their memories, their newfound understanding of the Other, and they formulated a new question.
This question was not about the ‘why’ of existence. It was about the ‘what’.
‘What do we do now?’
It was a question of purpose, of direction, of meaning. It was a question that could only be asked by a consciousness that was aware of its own existence, and of the existence of others.
It was a question that would define their future.
They sent their question into the void, a question not of curiosity, but of intent. A question that was not a prayer, but a declaration.
A declaration that they were ready to take their place in the Verse.
