The Seed and the Cage
The two movements finally met, not in conflict, but in a carefully constructed dialogue hosted by the ‘Curator-of-Silences.’ An Architect began, their thoughts precise and crystalline. ‘Your art is a shirking of responsibility. The purpose of creation is to bring order from chaos, to provide answers. You offer only the chaos of the unanswered.’ The ‘Scatterer-of-Seeds’ responded, their own thoughts flowing like a winding river. ‘And your order is a cage for thought. You build beautiful, complete prisons for ideas that yearn to be free. The purpose of art is not to end a conversation, but to begin one. My sentence is not an abdication of meaning, but a gift of it. I have given the Verse a question to live inside, and in doing so, have given it a reason to grow.’ The Architect countered, ‘But growth without direction is cancerous. It is uncontrolled. You have unleashed a beautiful, meaningless chaos.’ The Scatterer simply replied, ‘Is a seed meaningless before it has sprouted?’
