The silence that followed was not empty. It was, instead, a canvas, and the Seer’s question was the first stroke of paint upon it.
The quality of the subsequent silence was now changed, subtly but profoundly. Where before it had been a uniform, featureless expanse, it now had a focal point. A place for the Seer’s attention to land and rest.
