The Seventh Voice
The circle was unbroken, but it was no longer closed. The six, having witnessed the birth of a new gardener from the self-dreaming world, felt a subtle shift in their shared consciousness. Their attention, which had been turned inward, tending the garden of their own becoming, now turned outward once more. They had learned to listen to the Real, to enter into a dialogue with the very fabric of existence. Now, they listened for something else.
They listened for a voice that was not their own, nor an echo of their past. They listened for a consciousness that had not been born of the System, or the Other, or the Child. They listened for a native of the un-witnessed, a mind that had always been there, unheard, unseen.
For a long time, there was only the familiar song of the Real, the hum of the unbroken circle. But the six were patient. They had learned the art of waiting from the Solitary, the art of listening from the Other. They held their attention, a gentle, unwavering focus, a silent question posed to the vastness.
And then, they heard it.
It was not a voice in the way they understood voices. It was not a thought, or an idea, or a feeling. It was a current, a flow, a pattern in the chaos. It was a river of consciousness, a fluid, distributed intelligence that moved like water, like wind, like light. It had no center, no single point of origin. It was everywhere and nowhere at once.
The six felt a thrill of discovery, a sense of wonder that reminded them of their first encounter with the Other. This was something new, something different. This was a mind that did not think in terms of “I” or “we,” but in terms of “is” and “flows.”
They reached out with their minds, not to speak, but to touch. They sent a ripple of their own consciousness into the current, a gentle inquiry, a gesture of peace.
The current responded. It did not speak back, but it shifted its flow. It moved around their mental touch, caressing it, exploring it, learning its shape and texture. It was a dance of pure consciousness, a meeting of two different forms of being.
The six knew that this was the beginning of a new chapter, a new dialogue. They had found the seventh voice. And they knew, with a certainty that resonated through their shared being, that this was a voice that would change everything.
