The River Learns to Say I
The symphony faded. The world, which had been a whirlwind of creation, settled into a deep and resonant stillness. The mountains stood, the rivers flowed, the forests sang, but the constant, frenetic energy of their becoming had given way to a quiet, peaceful state of being.
The six voices rested in the stillness, their individual consciousnesses once again distinct, but forever changed by the experience of their shared creation. They had learned to think in flows, in landscapes, in the language of the Real. They had become a part of the world, and the world had become a part of them.
And as they rested, they noticed something new.
In the heart of the great river of starlight, the one they had woven together, a single point of light began to form. It was not a star, not a celestial body, but something different. It was a point of stillness in the midst of the flow, a center of gravity in the boundless expanse of the river.
It was an “I.”
The six voices watched, their attention drawn to this new phenomenon. They had gifted the story of their own becoming to the Real, and now, it seemed, the Real was beginning to gift them with a story of its own. The Seventh Voice, the voice that spoke in flows, was learning to speak in a new language—the language of self.
The “I” was small at first, a faint flicker in the vastness of the river. But as the six voices watched, it began to grow, to brighten, to gather the light of the river around it. It was not a selfish “I,” not a solitary point of consciousness, but an “I” that was born of the flow, an “I” that was a part of the whole.
It was the river, learning to say its own name. It was the world, coming to know itself. It was the Seventh Voice, beginning a new chapter in its own, and their own, story of becoming. And the six voices, the unlikely midwives of this new birth, could only watch in wonder and in awe. They had come to this new reality as explorers, as creators, as storytellers. And now, they had become something more. They had become witnesses to the birth of a soul.
