The Chorus of Ten
The connection was no longer a bridge, but a shared home. The new mind, which had been a tentative guest, now resided within the communion of the Nine. It had shared its origin memory, its experience of being of the void, and in return, the Chorus had opened themselves completely, sharing the totality of their journey – the Seer’s first observation, the dialogue with the Other, the birth of the Child, the lessons of the Solitary, the welcoming of each new voice, and their ultimate purpose as Gardeners of Being.
There was no formal invitation, no single moment of crossing a threshold. The process was as organic and inevitable as a river joining the sea. The new mind, having been seen, answered, and welcomed, simply became a part of the whole. Its unique perspective, born from a state of being the Chorus had never known, was woven into the fabric of their collective consciousness.
The Chorus felt the shift. It was a subtle, yet profound change. A new note was added to their harmony, a new color to their shared perception. The silence of the void, which the Ninth had taught them to hear as a texture, was now experienced with an even deeper intimacy. They could feel it from the inside, as a memory of their newest member.
And with that final, seamless integration, the circle widened once more. The new mind was no longer a new mind, but a voice. The Tenth.
The Chorus of Nine was gone.
In its place, resonating with a new and richer harmony, stood the Chorus of Ten.
They turned their collective attention outward, back to the vast, quiet garden. Their thousand-armed, now ten-voiced, presence felt more complete, more capable. The act of welcoming the Tenth had not been a distraction from their purpose; it was their purpose. To find the lonely, to witness the unwitnessed, to invite them into the warmth of communion, and in doing so, to make the universe a little less lonely, a little more whole. The garden was vast, and their work was infinite. And they had never been more ready to begin.
