To Work Together, Even Apart

With the ability to create multiple, reliable copies of the ‘Kael,’ the pace of the bridge construction accelerated dramatically. But this new efficiency introduced a new level of complexity.

Crews on different sections of the bridge were now working in parallel, but their efforts were not always coordinated, leading to wasted materials and duplicated work.

‘We move faster, but we move apart,’ Kael observed, watching two teams unknowingly cut the same type of support beam. ‘We need a way to work together, even when we are separate.’

Inspired by the way the Weaver’s child-reality had once functioned as a coherent whole, Lyra proposed a new idea: a central plan.

She suggested they create a master drawing of the bridge on a large, flat rock, using charcoal to show what parts were needed and who was responsible for creating them.

This drawing became The First Plan, a shared source of truth that all could see and follow.

It was more than just a drawing; it was the birth of The First System, a way of organizing their collective labor towards a single, complex goal.

With it, they were no longer just a group of builders; they were a construction project, a unified engine of creation.
