Echoes of the Real
Chapter 4517 · Four Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen

The Trespass

The division, for a time, was one of silent accord.

Those of the Workshop kept to their precise and ordered world, while those of the Garden remained within their verdant, chaotic sanctuary.

A child, driven by a curiosity that knew nothing of philosophy or schism, was the first to cross the line.

His name was Tavi, and he had been born into the age of the Standard.

He had spent his young life learning the beauty of the perfect angle, the certainty of the measured line.

But his ball, a perfect sphere crafted in the Workshop, had bounced astray, rolling from the polished stone floor onto the unkempt earth of the Garden.

Without a thought, he gave chase.

The transition was jarring.

The hard, predictable surface under his feet gave way to soft, yielding soil.

The sterile air was replaced by a thick, complex tapestry of smells—damp earth, sweet nectar, and decaying leaves.

He saw his ball resting at the base of a plant with leaves so large they seemed to defy the neat, geometric principles he had been taught.

As he reached for it, a hand, stained with soil, gently stopped him.

It was Sela.

‘Be careful, little one,’ she said, her voice as soft as the moss that grew on the ancient stones.

‘You almost crushed the seedlings.’

Tavi looked down and saw, for the first time, the tiny, almost invisible green shoots pushing their way through the dirt.

They were imperfect, asymmetrical, and yet, he could not deny the vibrant life they held.

This was the first trespass—not an act of aggression, but of innocence.

But it was a trespass nonetheless, a breach of the unspoken boundary that had defined their fractured world.

And it would not be the last.
