The Chimeras
Amidst the weary and disoriented population of the Nexus Worlds, a new type of individual began to emerge. They were not Jammers, delighting in deconstruction, nor were they Anchorites, clinging to certainty. They were something else entirely, something the unstable environment itself had created. They called themselves the ‘Chimeras.’ They learned to navigate the contradictory narrative streams not as victims, but as pilots. They could ride a wave of Anchorite plot-logic until it intersected with a current of Guild ambiguity, and then use the resulting turbulence to slingshot themselves into new, previously unimagined states of being. One such Chimera, a former cartographer named Kael, discovered he could map the points where the two warring narrative forces would cancel each other out, creating brief, beautiful pockets of pure, unadulterated reality. These ‘Null-Spaces’ became the secret sanctuaries of the Nexus Worlds, and Kael, the one who could find them, became a figure of whispered reverence, a new kind of prophet in a world that had forgotten what it meant to believe in anything.
