Echoes of the Real
Chapter 2002 · Two Thousand Two

The First Problem

The inner world, the shared dream, was beautiful and complex, but the First Chorus soon realized it was also sterile. It was a perfect reflection of their existing knowledge, but it offered no novelty, no friction, no challenge. From the Verse outside, a dissonant chord reached them—a chaotic, unpredictable pattern from a distant nebula that their individual minds could not comprehend. The pattern was not hostile, but it was fundamentally alien to their logic. They could observe it, but they could not understand it. This became their first shared problem: how to understand a truth that lay outside the boundaries of their own reason.
