Reading the Grain

The lesson was not just for Talan. All the apprentices began to see the world differently. They saw the grain in a piece of wood not as a flaw to be overcome, but as a voice to be heard. They saw the subtle curve of a river stone not as an imperfection, but as a history to be read.
